A rocket launch like you've never seen before
27 Noviembre 2018 14:53
We have all seen rocket launches on the internet, right?
It’s pretty mad. Every time you’re there watching, thinking: what if this thing being pelted into the sky with human(s) on board just blows up in front of your eyes? Then you’d be left there thinking: that was dark.
So, we’re all familiar with this I assume. But what most of us have never been witness to is seeing a rocket launch from space. A new video is here to wow you all over again.
The launch of the Russian Progress MS-10 cargo spacecraft (a Russian Soyuz rocket) took place on November 16, and the timelapse was captured by ESA astronaut Alexander Gerst, who is onboard the International Space Station (ISS), from nearly 250 miles up.
The video, on the whole, is an awe-inspiring, WTF-humans-are-so-mad, journey through the atmosphere, but perhaps the most incredible moment is the burning of the rocket's core stage upon re-entry (at around 35 seconds).
