Rumours about the Smith family being scientologists have been circulating for years. Jada Pinkett Smith and Leah Remini have been caught up in a feud ever since the latter published a memoir that fuelled such rumours.
Girls Trip actress Leah Remini is an anti-scientology activist. Remini has said that she was controlled and interrogated by the church before managing to extract herself from it in 2013. She then wrote a book called Troublemaker which was published in 2015, in which she described a scene that took place at Tom Cruise's house, where Jada Pinkett Smith and her husband, Will Smith, were also in attendance.
Remini described a hide-and-seek game taking place which she refused to take part in and talked about the Smiths being present and joining in. When Pinkett Smith was later asked about the event on a talk show, she laughed off Remini's account and said she didn't remember it in the same way as her. Remini saw Pinkett Smith's reaction as her trying to discredit her, using what Remini calls a Scientology tactic called 'fair gaming', and therefore became more convinced that the Smiths were indeed involved with the church.
However, Remini recently reached out to Pinkett Smith to make amends. And she was invited on to Pinkett Smith's show 'Red Table Talk' so that they could share both sides of the story and put the whole thing behind them once and for all.
