Strava shared a fitness map that details sensitive information about the location of military bases and personnel

Data release - Sensitive information about the location and staffing of military bases and spy outposts around the world has been revealed by a fitness tracking company, Strava. The app shared in a data visualisation map that shows all the activity tracked by users of its app, allowing people to record their exercise and share it with other users. The map shows every single activity ever uploaded to Strava – more than 3 trillion individual GPS data points. In locations like Afghanistan, Djibouti and Syria, the users of Strava seem to be almost exclusively foreign military personnel, meaning that bases stand out the most.
Grammy Awards - Bruno Mars won big at the Grammy Awards, scooping best record and song of the year categories, shocking favourites to win Kendrick Lamar and Jay-Z. The night was, like seen in other recent award ceremonies, punctuated with the #MeToo movement. Kesha, joined by Cyndi Lauper, Camila Cabello, Andra Day, Julia Michaels and members of the Resistance Revival Chorus, performed her ballad Praying. A string of celebrities, including John Legend, DJ Khaled, Cardi B and Cher also made cameos pretending to narrate the audiobook of Michael Woolf’s explosive book, Fire and Fury, but the most surprising turn came when Hillary Clinton took a turn to read an excerpt.
More violence in Kabul - A group of militants have attacked an army post near one of Afghanistan’s military academies in Kabul. Five militants armed with rocket-propelled grenades and automatic rifles attacked the outpost near the Marshal Fahim military academy at about 5am (00.30 GMT) on Monday morning. Eleven soldiers were killed and 16 wounded, a defence ministry spokesman said. Two of the attackers blew themselves up, two were killed in fighting and one was captured.
Paris is drowning - The River Seine in Paris has reached four metres above its normal water level for the time of year. The flood level rose to 5.84m (19.2ft) early on Monday and is not expected to begin receding before Tuesday. Weeks of rainfall have produced an unprecedented rise in the water level. Around 1,500 people have been evacuated from their homes in the greater Paris region.
Abortion in Ireland - Ireland's cabinet will hold a special meeting this evening to discuss a historic referendum on the country's abortion laws. Ministers will debate about what question will be put to voters and formally decide when it will take place - most likely in May or June. Under the Irish constitution, there is a near total ban on abortion.
Holiday tragedy - Two British men fell to their deaths while skiing off-piste in the French Alps, police have said. The pair were on holiday in Chamonix-Mont-Blanc and were skiing with another man on Sunday morning when they are thought to have slipped in icy conditions. Although they were off-piste, the route is popular with skiers and well traversed.
