I don't know about you but this would throw me off my game!

Everyone loves a good karaoke night. You gather with your friends and pick a song. A screen lights up, the music starts playing, and the lyrics appear. Many people prefer karaoke to 'normal' live singing if they are amateurs, because having the lyrics in front of you is a big leg-up — especially if you suffer from stage fright.

So, if you decided to sing a song by one of your favourite singers — in this case, Lana del Rey — and she showed up to join in, what would you do? This is exactly what happened in this video, with the singer more than thrilled to join her cheering fans in a rendition of her hit song, Cherry.

Del Rey is famous for being kind and loving to her fans, but she has always maintained an aura of aloof mystery. So, you probably wouldn't be alone in gasping in disbelief if you saw the seemingly-distant diva jumping up on stage with warmth and excitement to join the party with two of her adoring fans.

Following the video, Lana del Rey called the establishment 'my karaoke bar', suggesting that she's a regular there. So, why have there not been any more instances of her joining in the karaoke fun? Well, she also said that the best way to get her off her feet and onto the stage is to know her choreography to a tee. Thankfully for the karaoke girls, they had done their homework, and their accuracy impressed the award-winning New Yorker. Her tweet said: ' If you’re at my karaoke bar and you know my choreo I will probably sing with you'.

Del Rey, née Elizabeth Woolridge Grant, gained prominence a few years ago, after moving to New York City from Upstate New York in 2005 to jump-start her music career. Since the success of her single Video Games in 2011, Del Rey has seen her career sky-rocket: 2014's Ultraviolence and 2017's Lust for Life reached the number one spot in the US Billboard 200, while 2012's Paradise and 2015's Honeymoon made it to the top ten.

Her music has had much appeal among audiences due to its idiosyncrasies and unique style: Del Rey always adds a cinematic flair to her songs, evoking old the Hollywood of the 1950s and 1960s mixed with dark humour, surrealism, and melancholic glamour.

Del Rey has got into trouble over her comments on feminism in the past, some going as far as to call her an anti-feminist. In 2014, she dismissed feminism as a concept, saying: 'For me, the issue of feminism is just not an interesting concept. Whenever people bring up feminism, I'm like, God. I'm just not really that interested.' She has since clarified and said that she would rather focus on the future.
