They 'can never make any appeal even though they meet a miserable dog’s death anytime, at any place and by whatever methods'
Pyongyang is demanding justice. And justice for the Communist regime consists in executing the woman who, until ousted over a corruption scandal in March, was president of South Korea. The North Koreans are also calling for the extradition of Park's spy chief.
The Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) – one of the official communication channels of the North Korean regime – released a statement last week declaring that 'revelations show' that Park Geun-hye, former South Korean president, was the mastermind behind a plan to assassinate North Korea's 'supreme leadership'. They are demanding that Park along with her spy chief, Lee Byung-ho, be extradited to the North so they can be executed for treason.
'We declare at home and abroad that we will impose the death penalty on traitor Park Geun-hye and ex-director of the puppet intelligence service ... criminals of hideous state-sponsored terrorism who hatched and pressed for the heinous plot to hurt the supreme leadership of the DPRK,' KCNA said.
DPRK stands for the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, the North's official name.
Park and Lee 'can never make any appeal even though they meet a miserable dog’s death anytime, at any place and by whatever methods from this moment,' said the statement from the North’s Ministry of State Security, Ministry of People’s Security and Central Public Prosecutors Office.
The statement also makes reference to possible future plans. 'We declare that in case the US and the South Korean puppet forces again attempt at hideous state-sponsored terrorism targeting the supreme leadership ... we will impose summary punishment without advance notice.'

The statement claims that Park had 'pushed forward' a plan to eliminate the North's leader, Kim Jong-un in 2015, alleging that the plot involved making the killing look like a car or train accident. In May, Pyongyang accused the South's spy agency of collaborating with the CIA to orchestrate another plot to assassinate its 'supreme leadership' with a biochemical weapon.
KCNA has not divulged the source of the new 'revelations', although analysts believe it may have been sparked by a report in the Japanese newspaper Asahi, quoting anonymous sources, which claimed that Park had approved a plan for the National Intelligence Service (NIS) to topple Kim's government in 2015. The newspaper did not disclose more details of the plan.
South Korea's National Intelligence Service has refuted the accusations and said that news of a plot to kill Kim Jong-un 'had no grounds'
South Korea's National Intelligence Agency has called the threats issued by North Korea unforgivable and added that the report of a plot to kill Kim Jong Un 'had no grounds'.
While Pyongyang calls for her execution, the South's deposed leader, Park Geun-hye remains in custody, awaiting trial for her involvement in one of the biggest corruption scandals the country has seen for a decade. She is charged with 18 counts, including extortion, bribery and abuse of power. If found guilty she could spend the rest of her life behind bars.
