Hello, this is Anna breaking down today's news for you.

Missile intercepted - The Saudi-led coalition battling Yemen's Houthi rebels says it has intercepted a ballistic missile near Riyadh. Witnesses in the Saudi capital said they had heard an explosion and posted videos on social media showing a cloud of smoke in the air. The Houthi movement's al-Masirah TV reported that its fighters had fired a Burkan-2 missile at the Yamama Palace.

Horror on the railway - An Amtrak train that fell off an overpass south of Seattle on Monday was travelling at almost three times the speed limit for that section of track, according to investigators. Some of the carriages from the train – which had been making its first-ever run along a new, faster route – fell on to the highway below, killing at least three people, injuring dozens and crushing two vehicles, authorities said. Federal investigators say the train was travelling at 80mph (129km/h) in a 30mph zone.

Trump’s move questioned - A UN security council resolution calling for the withdrawal of Donald Trump’s recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital has been backed by every council member except the US, which used its veto.

Cyber attack - The US is set to publicly blame North Korea for carrying out a cyber-attack that caused widespread disruption to public services, companies and homes around the world earlier this year. The regime was ‘directly responsible’ for the WannaCry attack that crippled hospitals, banks and other infrastructure in May, a senior White House official said.

‘Tone deaf’ - Matt Damon has spoken again about sexual predators in Hollywood, claiming that one thing not being spoken about is the men who don’t fall into that category. ‘We’re in this watershed moment, and it’s great, but I think one thing that’s not being talked about is there are a whole shitload of guys – the preponderance of men I’ve worked with – who don’t do this kind of thing and whose lives aren’t going to be affected,’ Damon said to Business Insider. The comments sparked a massive backlash, with even his ex Minnie Driver calling him out for the 'tone deaf' response.

Fossils found - In a nearly 3.5 billion-year-old piece of rock from Western Australia, scientists have identified the oldest life forms ever known. The evidence consists of cylindrical and thread-like shapes thought to be fossilised microbes from the early days of life on Earth.
