Cheyenne Rose Antoine, 21, pleaded guilty on Monday to killing Brittney Gargol, then 18, in March 2015. Gargol was found strangled to death near a landfill in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, with Antoine's belt near her body. Antoine was sentenced to seven years for manslaughter.

The teens, aged 15-17, had got into difficulties off the coast of Lennox Head, New South Wales. A member of the public spotted them struggling in heavy surf about 700m (2,300ft) offshore, after which lifesavers sent the drone to drop an inflatable rescue pod, and the pair made their way safely to shore.

Tragedy in Kazakhstan - A bus caught fire in Kazakhstan on Thursday, killing 52 citizens of neighbouring Uzbekistan, the Kazakh interior ministry has said. The bus was travelling along a road in Kazakhstan’s north-western Aktau region that links the Russian city of Samara to Shymkent, a city in southern Kazakhstan close to the Uzbek border.
