Infidelity rumours beckon once again - Stormy Daniels’ lawyer says six other women have come forward with similar experiences to that of his client, who claims she had an affair with the now-president in 2006, a year after he married his wife, Melania. Michael Avenatti says these six women also have nondisclosure agreements. ‘As of tonight, we've been approached by six separate women with similar stories to my client,’ said Avenatti in an interview on CNN's Anderson Cooper 360. ‘I want to stress that we have not vetted these stories to a great degree, however the initial consultation, the initial information that we're receiving indicate that there are some striking similarities between their stories and that of my client, Miss Clifford.’
Surprise visit - North Korea’s foreign minister will meet with his Swedish counterpart for a second day today after making a surprise trip to Stockholm, prompting speculation that a meeting between Donald Trump and the North Korean leader, Kim Jong-un, will happen in the near future. The Swedish foreign ministry has said the talks will focus on ‘Sweden’s consular responsibilities as a protecting power for the United States, Canada and Australia’ and will also address ‘the security situation on the Korean peninsula’.
Mugabe ‘disgusted’ - Ousted Zimbabwean president Robert Mugabe hit out at the way his departure was handled in November, describing the military uprising as a ‘coup d’etat’ that ‘we must undo’ in a TV interview on Thursday. ‘I say it was a coup d’etat – some people have refused to call it a coup d’etat,’ Mugabe said of the army takeover which led to Emmerson Mnangagwa coming to power. ‘We must undo this disgrace which we have imposed on ourselves, we don’t deserve it... Zimbabwe doesn’t deserve it.’
Bridge collapse - Four people have died after a newly-built bridge collapsed on Thursday at Florida International University, crushing at least five vehicles. The 950-ton bridge fell directly on to a busy roadway at the university’s main Miami-area campus. At a news briefing Thursday evening, the Miami-Dade County fire chief said four had been found dead at the scene. Nine victims were removed ‘early on’ and taken to hospitals, Dave Downey added.
Violent clashes - Migrants in Spain have clashed with police in Madrid following the death of a Senegalese street vendor who they claim was chased by officers. Protesters set fire to objects in the street in the Lavapiés district. Officials say Mame Mbaye Ndiaye, thought to be in his mid-30s, was found unconscious and died of a heart attack.
Break-up - Donald Trump Jr. is getting divorced. Vanessa Haydon Trump filed paperwork seeking a divorce from Donald Trump’s eldest son on Thursday. The two have been married since 2005 and have five children together. ‘After 12 years of marriage, we have decided to go our separate ways,’ the couple said in a statement. ‘We will always have tremendous respect for each other and our families. We have five beautiful children together and they remain our top priority. We ask for your privacy during this time.’
