The ‘Kiki challenge’, also known as the ‘In My Feelings challenge’, involves jumping out of a moving vehicle and dancing to Drake’s hit, In My Feelings, as it carries on driving.
There is a whole host of videos of the dancers being robbed, crashing into poles, tripping or falling out of the cars, and one person even being run over. One viral video showed a woman having her handbag stolen while attempting the challenge.
It all started after internet comedian, Shiggy, posted a video to Instagram of himself dancing to the song. His video went viral, prompting thousands of others to do the same.
Police officials from around the world, including in India, Spain, the US, Malaysia and the United Arab Emirates, have said the dance challenge is dangerous and people caught trying it could face criminal charges.
Mumbai police wrote on Twitter that the dance could put others’ lives at risk, urging people to ‘desist from public nuisance or face the music!’
Spanish police have warned drivers against attempting the challenge, saying that they could be charged if caught. In Florida, drivers were warned that jumping out of a moving car and dancing could see people hit with $1000 of fines and possible criminal charges.
However, it is yet to be seen whether the warnings have any effect on this craze gripping the internet.
