The reality TV star and beauty icon is using her public platform for good
20 Noviembre 2017 13:33
Although it would be easy to cast of the Kardashians as privileged money-making machines, it seems they can actually use their platform for good, as well as self-satisfying promotion.
On Sunday night’s episode of Keeping up with the Kardashians, Kim visited homeless people in LA’s infamous skid row. After seeing how many people are struggling with homelessness, she decided to get proactive and raise awareness and money to tackle the issue.
Kim said her late father used to take her and her sisters to skid row when they were children to remind them that not everyone lives the way they do. Upon revisiting the area, the beauty icon, alongside Kourtney, and Khloé, sat down with women at the Union Rescue Mission to hear their personal stories.

These tales of hardship struck a chord with Kim, in particular. She decided to throw a party that would benefit Alexandria House, an organisation that offers transitional housing to women and children and helps them find a permanent place to live, as well as secure a better financial future. Kim also brought in specialists who helped the women write resumés and gave advice on finding a job.
‘The problem is just so big that it's not gonna take just one person saying they want to make a difference,’ Kim said to the cameras. ‘It's gonna take the whole city and the country coming together to fix this huge issue.’
